Last night

Well, I didn’t win but I had a great night.  It was a very strange beginning to the evening.  I arrived and there was a line up to register. I stood there for probably an hour waiting for the line to move.  It was ridiculous.  I couldn’t quite understand why we all had to wait [...]

LA Music Awards

I’m back in the city of angels and the LA Music Awards are tonight.  I spoiled myself today by going to an amazing hair stylist and we’ve booked into the Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Blvd.  It’s a beautiful room right next to the pool and the tropicana bar.  I’m really excited about tonight, no matter [...]

My birthday. What a bizarre day!

It was my first birthday away from home and although the day ended on a good note, most of the day was a disaster.  Everything Daniel and I planned to do, didn’t work out.  We were planning on a day of walking and exploring but it was raining and really cold.  We went to have [...]

We’re back New York

It’s 9:30 pm and we just arrived back to New York. Heading back to my cousin Ashley and Mike’s apartment in the west village.  I can’t thank them enough for allowing us to stay with them for the better part of 3 weeks.  It has been so amazing and so generous of them.  There is [...]

Spectacular afternoon in the park

Another spectacular day in the park.  I can’t even describe how beautiful it was this afternoon.  The sun was setting, sky was soft pink in color and the air was crisp.  Slowly we strolled through the park, taking it all in.  I hope I can remember this feeling, this day.  It was truly enlightening.

Cambridge

Today, Dan and I got out of London and headed to Cambridge for the day.  The train got us out there is an hour and I’m so glad that we went. Just what I needed.  It’s slow paced, green and beautiful.  It truly is an amazing little place.  The big old colleges and the small [...]

Uneasy, homesick for America

I’m feeling uneasy this morning.  I’m not sure what the problem is but I just feel like I want to get out of London.  I’m feeling homesick. Not for home but for America.  It’s so strange but I guess I wasn’t ready to leave.  I just have to remember that I will be back in [...]

London town

Walking around exploring London.  It’s pretty chilly but the sun is out and it’s a beautiful day.  I’m sitting in Hyde Park, watching the activities and happenings around me.  I’ve been to London in the summer but winter is a totally new experience.  I would say that the people are definitely not as happy in [...]

Open mic night

I told myself that I needed to go to an open mic night and perform in New York.  It was a goal I set for myself well before I even left Australia.  I planned to play at one in Nashville but it didn’t happen.  I was disappointed in myself for not getting it done so [...]

LA here I come via London and New York, Ha!

Well, my sign came in the form of a friend of ours today.  Peter is a life coach from Brisbane and without realising it we all happened to be in New York at the same time.  We met this morning and had breakfast at a good old fashion American diner in Brooklyn.  I told him [...]
